Donate to the Association of Kokosing and Thoreau

To realize our goal of recreating a camp in the spirit of Kokosing and Thoreau, the Association of Kokosing and Thoreau has an ongoing fundraising campaign. We are raising funds towards:

  • The purchase of the Miller Pond site or similar
  • Camper scholarships to assist those with limited means
  • Opening another camp, as is feasible and as soond as possible, possibly at a temporary rental site

As in the past, lots of young people from many backgrounds, places and experiences will come together each summer to form our very special camp community.

While our total campaign goal is ambitious, gifts of any size are appreciated. We hope you will join us and give as generously as you can.

Checks should be made payable to: George D. Aiken RC&D Council. Please note on the memo line and in the cover note that the gift is for AKT. The Aiken Council will send you a tax receipt. Mail to:

What is the Aiken Council?
The Aiken Council is a Vermont-based organization dedicated to preserving quality of life and the natural environment. To this end, the Council provides support to groups (like us) with similar goals.

How are we affiliated with the Aiken Council?
Gaining non-profit status with the IRS is a lengthy procedure. While this process is underway for AKT, the Aiken Council has agreed to act as our fiscal sponsor. As a non-profit organization, they can accept tax-deductable donations on our behalf.
